Plumb bobs are simple, straightforward tools, and I like this one for its ruggedness and practical method of securing the plumb line with a hex nut that has a hole through the top.The plumb bob is built for several lifetimes, needing only to occasionally replace the plumb line. Fortunately, the company provides two plumb lines, one shorter and the second several times longer. With this much line, you can replace it many times.I chronicled the assembly process in my six numbered photos. The just of my instructions are to make it easier to thread the line through the nut, secure the hex bolt to the bob to prevent it from coming loose and winding the plumb line onto a dowel, pencil, or the like to keep the line tidy and easy to handle. If you ever, even just a few times, need to locate a center point or confirm verticality, add this plumb bob to your DIY kit.
